Activating angels. Moving mountains. Shattering strongholds. (Part 2)

The angel standing on my right, and the demon standing on my left, both leaned forward with great anticipation. They were both watching my lips, and waiting to hear what was going to come out of my mouth. They were waiting for their marching orders. After all, the power of life and death are in our tongue (Proverbs 18:21). Remember from part 1 of this blog, angels harken to the spoken word of God (Psalm 103:20-21).

Years of seeing the problem, and speaking the problem, had taken it’s toll… focussing on the problem and not the solution had damaged my mindset and created strongholds of negativity and unbelief. Wrong patterns of thinking that powered more of the same. More often than not, negativity and curses came out of my mouth, and not surprisingly, for many years I walked in defeat and depression.

We are on a battleship, not a cruise ship, but the Lord has not left us powerless. He has given us weapons, and He expects us to learn how to use them. The war is won and lost with us. Often we are our greatest enemy, but we can be our greatest ally.

 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 says,

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought captive to Christ.”

The 2020 Jubilee Ministries seminar with Bill Sudduth brought home the reality of what it takes to restore a life. Under the unction of the Holy Spirit, he had drawn a pie chart showing 75% of the work of life restoration is the renewing of the mind, 20% is inner healing and 5% is deliverance from demons.

This is a real downer for those who think the Lord will wave His magic wand and miraculously fix all our problems. He certainly does miraculously heal, but God also expects that we do our part. He does the rest.

The process of renewing the mind and dismantling strongholds of stinking thinking (which are often generational), takes commitment, effort, and time. The word of God washes our minds and shows us where the plumbline of truth lies. But we need to go a step further, and proclaim that word into the atmosphere.

To proclaim, means to declare publicly out loud boldly and defiantly in either speech or writing.

Before Maori tribes went into battle against each other, the tohunga would win the battle in the spirit before it was won on the ground, with their chanting and cursing, activating their demonic support.

Pastor John Kilpatrick of Church of His Presence (CHP) in his 2020 series, The Angels are Coming (timecode 1:30:00), shared,

“Before Jesus began his ministry at 30-years old, He did some spiritual warfare by proclaiming the word of God and tearing down strongholds. Jesus went into the temple and proclaimed the word of God into the atmosphere, understanding that His weapons of warfare are not carnal - He was going to make some proclamations. Before He ever did a miracle, He was pulling down strongholds:

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.
Isaiah 61:1-3 (NKJV)

He proclaimed what what was going to happen before He did it. The Lord had already written it in the days of Isaiah, now Jesus spoke it into the ears of those captives that things were going to change.”

Kilpatrick goes on to say, “After hearing those proclamations, the angels in attendance went, “YES SIR! We are going to see that the sick are healed, the captives are set free, and the broken hearts are bound up.”

Heck, if even Jesus felt the need to tear down the strongholds before He could minister, how much more do we need to prepare the spiritual atmosphere? I can’t afford to waste any more time doing things in the flesh, and not seeing real change. Now is the time to walk in the spirit, use the weapons of our warfare that are mighty for pulling down strongholds, and seeing the captives set free, the mountains moved, and the strongholds torn down.

So when we face issues, we need to proclaim and declare what the word of God says about the situation. When I sit down to work every day, I know that unless I run out onto the battlefield first, and do the damage to the enemy, he will hinder everything I try to do that day. So I deal to him before he deals to me…

“In the name of Jesus, I declare that no weapon that is formed against me can prosper, and every tongue which rises against me in judgment, You shall condemn. This is my heritage as a servant of the Lord, and my righteousness comes from You, Lord (Isaiah 54:17). Thank You, Father, for contending with those who contend with me (Isaiah 49:25). I ask that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain (1 Chronicles 4:10), and that Your will be done, in and through me today, and Your kingdom come today (Matthew 6:10), in Jesus mighty name.”

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! -2 Corinthians 5:17

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  -Romans 12:2

Put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. -Ephesians 4:22-24
